Palestinian Political Prisoners Subject to Collective Punishment as Mass Hunger Strike Continues

As organisations dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), the Palestinian Council of Human Rights Organisations (PCHRO) is gravely concerned about the series of collective and punitive measures taken by the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) against Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons currently engaged in a mass hunger strike. These measures include solitary confinement, daily fines of up to 500 NIS (€100), confiscation of salt for water, the denial of electricity supply and random cell and body searches.

Land Day 2012: The JNF is NOT Charitable, but a Racist, Zionist Organization

In commemoration of Land Day, BADIL, in cooperation with Lajee Center, Phoenix Charitable Society, Injaz, Al Rowwad Center and local activists and women from Bethlehem, organized a march and tree planting activity in lands adjacent to Cremisan Monastery and Al-walajeh village. All the lands in that area are threatened by the Greater Jerusalem Program under implementation by the Israeli government to annex as much Palestinian land bordering Jerusalem Municipality and the construction of the Apartheid Wall.

Joint Statment: Palestine at the ICC: Politics Prevail Once More

As organisations dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), the Palestinian Council of Human Rights Organisations (PCHRO) is deeply disappointed with the decision of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) not to proceed with the preliminary examination into crimes committed in Palestine since 2002.

BADIL’s participation in the 19th Human Rights Council Session (including videos)

The 19th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) took place from the 27th of February to the 23rd of March 2012. BADIL participated actively in the event and submitted two written statements, five oral statements as well a (co-) organized and took part in two side events. Furthermore, BADIL engaged productively with various stake holders and participants of official delegations in addition to numerous members of the international civil society.
