Basic agenda and principles for a
community-based campaign for the defense of Palestinian refugee rights
were defined in a series of popular conferences convened in historic
Palestine in 1995-1996. The basic agenda set at these conferences
included:
raising international
awareness, advocating and lobbying for the right of return,
restitution of property, and compensation;
lobbying for
international protection and assistance for Palestinian refugees;
supporting and
empowering Palestinian refugee initiatives.
Principles and agenda were further defined through a series of follow-up
workshops and in the annual meetings of the Global Palestine Coalition
Right of Return Coalition.
