Dear Subscribers,

Please note that BADIL decided to postpone the release of the December 2002 issue (No. 16) of Al-MAJDAL Magazine due to heavy workload and the difficult working conditions under curfew in Bethlehem.

We will instead publish a double issue (No. 16/17) in March 2003. This forthcoming issue of Al-MAJDAL will feature debate about a one-state vs. a two-state solution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and reflect upon the implications of both models on the rights of and durable solutions for Palestinian refugees.

In addition, Al-MAJDAL 16/17 (March 2003) is scheduled to include:

• -     Reports and Analysis of the 3^rd annual Strategy Workshop of the Palestine Right of Return Coalition (Copenhagen, 12 – 15 December 2002);

• -      Report about BADIL Workshops and Public Debates in Palestine about the Relevance of the Bosnian Experience with Refugee Return and Property Restitution for the Palestinian Case;

• -     Update on War Crimes and the Case against Ariel Sharon;

• -     Update and Analysis: International Protection for Palestinian Refugees (new UNHCR interpretation of the status of Palestinian refugees under the 1951 Refugee Convention; recent interpretations of the 1951 Convention/Paragraph 1D by courts in Britain and Australia).
