BADIL General Assembly elects new BADIL Board

Under
the slogan, “Our Right of Return is Non-negotiable,” the third BADIL General
Assembly convened in Bethlehem for two-days of sessions held between 23 – 24
September 2004. Irrespective of tight Israeli restrictions of movement,
numerous BADIL members from the West Bank districts of Nablus, Jenin,
Tulkarem, Ramallah and Hebron were able to join the debates.
The third BADIL General Assembly approved administrative and financial
reports of the previous period, recruited a new financial audit firm to
ensure BADIL reporting in line with international standards, and adopted
BADIL’s 2005 – 2007 Plan of Action for the promotion of international
protection and rights-based durable solutions for Palestinian refugees.
BADIL affairs in the coming period will be directed by the newly elected
nine-member Board composed of:
Rifa’ Abu Al-Reesh (Am’ari camp, Ramallah),
Salem Abu Hawwash (Dura, Hebron),
Dr. Abdelfattah Abu Srour (Aida Camp,
Bethlehem),
Adnan Ajarmeh (Aida camp, Bethlehem),
Anwar Hamam (Ramallah),
Tayseer Nasrallah (Balata camp, Nablus),
Naji Odeh (Deheishe camp, Bethlehem),
Wisal Salem (Tulkarem camp) and
Dr. Adnan Shehadeh (Arroub camp, Hebron).
Activities of the BADIL Board will be supervised
by a three-member Oversight Committee including the following elected
members:
Mustafa Shehab (Tulkarem camp),
Fayez Arafat (Balata camp, Nablus) and
Afif Ghatasheh (Al-Fawwar camp, Hebron).
