A Celebration to Benefit the Freedom Theatre of Jenin

The Jenin Refugee Camp suffers deeply and constantly from the Israeli occupation. Isolated from the world and victim to frequent incursions by the Israeli military, the children of the camp grow up traumatized. Violence and humiliation are part of their daily lives, robbing them of their right to a normal childhood.

The Freedom Theatre was founded in 2006 by Juliano Mer Khamis in the Jenin Refugee Camp, Occupied Palestinian Territories. Following up on the success of the original Stone Theatre founded by Juliano’s mother, Arna Mer (portrayed in the award-winning documentary Arna’s Children), The Freedom Theatre has flourished and touched the lives of hundreds of children.
