Boycott Israeli Independence Celebrations, Commemorate Palestinian "Nakba" and Displacement

A Call for Action by the National Society for the Rights of Internally Displaced in Israel:

The National Society for the Rights of the Internally Displaced in Israel calls upon the Palestinian people and all political and social institutions to boycott all official and unofficial celebrations commemorating Israel's independence day. We call upon everyone to participate in national activities organized for the 26 April 2001. Foremost among these activities will be visits to the destroyed villages including al-Birwa, Umm az-Zeinat, and Suhmata. Persons are also invited to participate in a public rally on the 26 April between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm organized by the National Society for the Rights of the Internally Displaced. The rally will start in the neighborhood of Yaffa in western Nazareth and proceed towards the village of Ma'alol in the direction of Haifa with participants carrying placards with the names of our villages and towns accompanied by chants affirming our demand for the right of return. The march will end with short speeches and a Palestinian cultural presentation.

Displaced Palestinians and honest supporters of our national cause:

Let us renew our oath and loyalty to our land and to our homeland!
Let us reaffirm our right of return!
