15 February 1953: Israeli Military Unit Commanded by Ariel Sharon cordon off and shell the Palestinian Village of Qibya killing 69 Palestinians. A school, a mosque and 45 houses in the village were also destroyed in the operation (codenamed Operation Shoshana by the Israeli military)
