Summary Description
Role Purpose:
Field Researcher to work with BADIL on a consultancy basis in terms of conducting field researches. In this role, S/He will schedule and conduct meetings& interviews, collect first hand data and information, write, and produce reports as required by BADIL.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collect, review and assess relevant literature and publication as well as categorize and classify what fits with BADIL’s plan and priorities;
- contribute to implementation of BADIL's research plan, including compilation and analysis of field data, legal and political resources,
- Prepare, coordinate, arrange and conduct field visits of targeted and/or designated communities, organizations, stakeholders and committees,
- Collect, classify and produce first hand data, information including interviews, quotations, photos, recordings/films and stories/case studies on forced population transfer of Palestinians,
- Report, write, document and edit relevant materials and/or initiate press releases, write statement or power point presentations as instructed by the Resource Unit Coordinator and legal advocacy coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master degree in political studies, preferably in International law - human rights;
- 3 years experience in conducting field researches and interviews with victims, stakeholders and/or duty bearers;
- Fluent spoken and written English and skilled in editing;
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Palestine Cause, in particular the refugee question;
Very good ability to carry out interviews in Arabic- (for non-Arab native applicants).
