Conversations on Palestine: BADIL and JVP partner in another Webinar Series

PR/EN/020117/07

In partnership with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), BADIL is engaged in a three-part webinar series entitled “Forced Population Transfer and Colonization: Conversations on Palestine” throughout the month of February.

The first webinar took place 2 February, addressing the issue of forcible transfer in the Old City of Hebron, based on the recent case study published by BADIL in August 2016. The next two webinars are scheduled for 7 and 13 February on colonization in Palestine and the historic and current role of the international community in perpetuating the ongoing forcible transfer of the Palestinian people. Issues such as the 50 year anniversary of the occupation, the 70 year anniversary of the Nakba and the centennial of the Balfour Declaration will also be addressed.

This is the second webinar series BADIL has implemented in partnership with JVP; the previous series took place in March 2016 entitled “Root Causes of the Palestinian Refugee Crisis and The Ongoing Nakba”. The series was widely attended by JVP members across the United States with the webinars focusing on the Root Causes of the Palestinian refugee crisis, the Practicalities of Return and Business and Human Rights, BDS and Ways Forward. The materials and the recorded webinars can be found here.

BADIL will also be participating in the JVP National Membership Meeting in Chicago scheduled for 31 March – 2 April 2017 and engaged in a speaking tour throughout the Midwestern states in the weeks following the meeting.
