In response to the unlawful killing of Abd al-Raham, 13, residents and organizations of Aida Refugee Camp call upon the Palestinian Authority, Palestinian Liberation Organization and international community to act
PHROC Position Paper on the Current Funding Crisis of UNRWA, International Responsibility and a Framework of Short and Long-term International Interventions Necessary for Maintaining the Functioning of UNRWA, and Ensuring Fundamental Rights of Palestine Refugees
In the framework of the world-wide rallies for Palestinian refugees' right of return launched by the Al-Awda network on 7 April 2001, the following events will be organized in JORDAN:
* Public Right-of-Return March organized by the High Committee for the Defense of the Palestinian Right of Return in Jordan: The march leave from the Unions' Center at 17:00 and proceed to the UN headquarters. It will be concluded with a statement condemning Israeli massacres committed against the Palestinian people, especially those committed by the war criminal Ariel Sharon and his current government. The statement will also include recommendations concerning the role popular movements in Jordan and other Arab countries on the way to Palestinian return and independence.
* UNRWA schools start their day with morning lectures about the Deir Yassin massacre and other massacres committed against the Palestinian people prior to the destruction of their and villages in 1948.
* Youth Activity Centers in the 13 Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan will conduct workshops, lectures, video screenings and photo exhibitions.
