BADIL’s Engagement in the 51th UNHRC, Under Item 7: BADIL calls on the EU to end its MoU with Israel to pillage Palestinian natural gas

For the 51st regular session of the UNHRC (12 September - 7 October), BADIL submitted a written and oral statement highlighting the international violations and crimes that the EU would commit if it follows through with the June Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel. If the EU should follow through with the MoU, an agreement exploit natural gas from the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967 and the territory colonized in 1948, it would be committing grave breaches of international law: both pillaging and denial of self-determination of the Palestinian people.
