BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights concluded its third annual International Mobilization Course for the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian people on 1 August 2022. The course was held over 10 days, with 20 international human rights defenders, advocates, activists, mobilizers and policy officers from across the world.
The aim of the course is to strengthen international mobilization through enhancing participants’ advocacy skills, while giving them the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the reality in Palestine. It also is an opportunity for participants to be confronted with Palestinian perspectives and the colonial-Apartheid context in which they live.
The course utilized multiple formats to deepen their understanding such as lectures, panels, interactive workshops and field visits. Alongside the legal knowledge provided to participants in lectures and panels, the field visits allowed participants to observe first-hand the forcible transfer policies carried out against the Palestinian people and to understand them as part of the overall Zionist-Israeli colonial enterprise. Participants were also exposed to the intricacies of discrimination imposed on Palestinians on both sides of the Green Line.
The workshops, on the other hand, engaged the participants to develop international solidarity campaigns and movements, as well as how to influence activities of third-party duty bearers. It was also the opportunity for them to network and create future partnerships in their respective countries.
The International Mobilization Course is a project within BADIL’s strategic plan which aims to mobilize international solidarity and accountability.
